Committee of European Societies for Behavioural Biology
This committee aims to represent, coordinate and promote the field of Behavioural Biology on the European level on behalf of the affiliated learned societies. Research networks often entail several European countries and the affiliated societies try to further strengthen these European contacts and collaborations. More and more legislation pertaining to animal welfare and conservation as well as funding policy are decided on a European level. After a number of years of preparatory informal contacts and activities leading to two successful European Behavioural Biology Conferences (ECBB), delegates of the participating European societies decided to set up this joint committee. Its aims are to ensure the continuation of the European Behavioural Biology conference and to enable a joint representation for the different societies on the European level where legislation and funding policy touch issues relevant to Animal Behaviour research. The coordination and chair of this committee will be the current ASAB European Secretary. The committee further consists of either the president or a delegate of each of the participating societies, as well as the former and the future responsible organiser of the bi-annual conference.
